Hi! My name is Laura Feider and I am excited to begin another year at EverGreen! I am from Racine, but spent the last two and a half years living in California where I taught children from 2-4 years old at a childcare center on the Stanford campus. Before that I had taught with the Head Start program and have taught in Racine Unified. Before getting hired by Racine Unified I had subbed around the district.
In my free time I enjoy being in the outdoors camping and hiking. I enjoy playing tennis and also fire dance (fire poi). I love spending time with my family. My parents are in town and I have two brothers, one of whom lives in the Midwest. I have a nephew whom I absolutely love to spoil.
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and truly enjoy seeing my students progress in the skills they are learning. Each student who walks through my door is like “my child” to me. I don’t have any of my own children, but I care for my students like they were my own children. I want to see them succeed to the best of their abilities, and like to partner with my families to help each student achieve to their potential. I like to teach social skills, in addition to the core academics, as these are important in school and in the workplace. I can’t wait to get to know the children and families that are in my classroom and in all of the EverGreen classrooms. I am so thrilled to be starting a new year of first grade at EverGreen! It’s going to be a great year!
