Ms. Amber Anderson
Kindergarten Teacher
My name is Amber Anderson, and I am one of the 5K teachers here at EverGreen Academy. I have been with EverGreen since 2014 and after graduating from UW-Parkside in 2016 I became the 3rd grade teacher.
I previously taught children aged infants to 4k, and during the summer months I would work with mixed age groups. Through my experience I found it important to incorporate many different teaching styles in my classroom. Every child is unique, and it is important to give them several options, so they may find the style that best suits them. I believe school teaching should encompass the whole child, not just academics. In my class I will use real life scenarios to help students connect to what we are learning. I also encourage students to work in groups or with a partner to help see different thought processes which can help them think deeper about the subject.
I really do love this school and the students who attend. I am always proud of my students whether they are trying their best and not giving up, accomplishing goals, singing in our school concerts, or watching them participate in activities outside of school.
When I am not working, I am usually at the dog park with my dog Izzy or at the beach looking for cool rocks and sea glass. I am also a voracious reader and when I am winding down, I will snuggle on the couch with our cat Mr. Mewogi and read (when he stops demanding my full attention).
