Ms. Amy Macemon
Art Specialist
Thank you for stopping here! My name is Amy Macemon and I'm EverGreen's Elementary Art Specialist.
I worked at RAM's Wustum Art Museum for 7 years, serving as a General Museum Assistant and then as an Assistant Educator. During that time, I managed art materials, set up and cleaned up classes, ran children's art classes and camps, and so much more!
During my time as a naturalist, I regularly integrated art into our nature discoveries! From creating stick insects to using plants for natural dyes to making spider webs with sticks and yarn, I love to connect kids to nature through art.
When I worked as a nutrition educator, I loved to make the food beautiful by plating it well, adding edible flowers, making faces on our sandwiches, and more!
And most recently, as a 4th grade teacher at EverGreen, doing crafts with students was one of my favorite activities! Getting to watch kids be imaginative, create something from their interests, and be inventive in how they do it was always a joy for me!
All of this is to say that art is such an expansive and far-reaching way to learn about the world around us, and I am so grateful to help facilitate that journey for the students of EverGreen Academy!
