Mrs. Lara Meier

My name is Lara Meier. I am so excited to be your culinary director!  I started with Evergreen in 2018, when EverGreen began the lunch program. Before that I was a stay at home mom for 20 years!  I am married to the most amazing man, PRINCIPAL MEIER!!  We have been married for 25 years!  We have 8 amazing children. Emma, Mikey, Tucker, Heston, Lucy, Charli, Marsha and Hinckley are the best thing I have ever done, and I am so grateful to be their mom. My family truly are my most favorite people to be with. I absolutely love working with Mike every day and seeing my children in the halls and grabbing a quick hug and a kiss!  It is the best!

My passion is cooking, and I love reading. One of my favorite things to do is curl up with a new recipe book and a blanket. I also love being with my family spending time playing games, watching movies, traveling, watching Mike and the kids play football, or eating dinner each night as a family and chatting about our day and laughing. In our family there is a lot of laughter. 

I love coming to school each day to see your children, they are truly the reason I am here!  I believe in the same values that EverGreen stands for joy, respect, perseverance and security.  I think those values help children become incredible adults. My philosophy in the kitchen is the same as my home. That every child who I come into contact with will feel so loved, and that they matter.  They will know how incredibly wonderful they are, and how happy I am that they are here. Every meal, is made with love, and I think that is part of what makes EverGreen food taste so delicious!

I am so grateful to be part of EverGreen. As a stay at home mom for 20 years, I never had plans to work outside of the home.  When Grant Meier (my father in law) had the dream of starting a school, I thought how lovely!  I teased him that due to my love of cooking, one day I would work in the lunch room. I am so grateful that dream has come true!!   AND bonus, I get to work with my brother Thomas Abbott every day!   

I live by the attitude that every day is your best day yet. I truly believe that joy is a choice, and I am so grateful to be part of your families lives.  Please come and say hi any time!  I would love to get to know you all!
